These marine-style mussels with white wine are delicious! They are prepared in a wine and lemon broth and then they are cooked in a tomato and onion sauce that is yummy and preparing them is so easy that you will have them ready in less than 35 minutes. You dare? Come on!

Ingredients

  • 1 kg. of mussels
  •     1 onion
  •     2 cloves of garlic
  •     150 ml. of natural tomato sauce
  •     200 ml. of white wine
  •     1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  •     2 bay leaves
  •     1 tablespoon flour
  •     The juice of 1/2 lemon
  •     Olive oil
  •     Salt

    1-We start by cleaning the mussels and discarding those that are broken, open or have a bad smell.

    2-When you have selected your mussels, place them in a colander and wash them with plenty of water. Then remove the beards with the help of a scissors and scrape the shell with a knife. Wash again.

    3-In a pot, add plenty of water, lemon juice, salt to taste and half of the white wine. When the water boils, add the mussels and cook over medium heat for ten minutes or until you feel that they have opened.

    4-Meanwhile, cut the onion and garlic cloves into very small squares. Fry both ingredients in a casserole with olive oil and when they are golden add the tomato sauce and continue frying over medium heat for ten more minutes.

    5-Strain the mussels and reserve the broth for cooking. Add the tablespoon of flour to the tomato sauce and stir to integrate. Then, add the rest of the white wine with the broth of mussels and let boil for two minutes to evaporate the alcohol.

    6-Add the mussels to the casserole along with the spoonful of sweet paprika and the bay leaves. Rectify the salt of the sauce, cover the casserole and cook for another five minutes over medium heat.

    7-Remove the preparation from the heat and let it rest for ten minutes. After a while, serve your mussels to the marinara with white wine and enjoy, you’ll suck your fingers!
